Course certification documents submitted to @athleticscanada for the first #VFAC Seawall Half Marathon on October 18, and Seawall Marathon on November 29. Course is flat, fast, and traffic free, so all Vancouver clubs and runners will have a certified course for their club and virtual races. These two races will be club members only, but new membership is only $70 and lasts till end of 2021. (You can be a member of more than one club.) With the current pandemic situation #Summerfast10k registrations are suspended until June 1. The July 20 race is dependant on public health guidance. In the eve...nt Summerfast 2020 is cancelled, participants who have already registered will receive a free entry in 2021. **VFAC track series - May 9 & 16 meets Cancelled** In line with the BC Health Authority prohibition of all events over 50 people the two May VFAC track series meets have been cancelled. Refunds have been issued and should show on your credit card in the next week or so.... There are no plans to run them again until next year. The August Track meet is still scheduled at this stage but entries will not open until after isolation measures end. Thank your early support of this series, and I hope we will see you in August. Congrats to #VFAC long time member Roy Millen who in the 45-49 age group beat his 2013 half marathon PB by 24 seconds finishing in 1:18:30 and 4th in his AG. He had a solid buildup through the winter months, perfect conditions, and his personal pacer, women's 3rd place finisher Sabrina Wilke which all contributed to the spectacular performance . #VFAC Club handicap 8k was held this morning on a windy Stanley Park seawall course. Congrats to Bev Attfield for being first across the line, to Jon Behnke (25:58) and Lissa Zimmer (32:08) for the fastest M/F times, and Kevin O'Connor for the turtle award for last home .
