Hair appointments are not considered social gatherings, and I have safety protocols in place to protect myself and you all. ... I am isolating when not at work. I also have someone getting my groceries for me, and I do not go to restaurants or other public spaces where I will come within 6ft of anyone. I wear a mask when not at home, unless I’m exercising outdoors. In my work I am in contact with people who are high risk; I also see people as young as 2 months and as old as 96 years, so it’s extremely important for me to be safe. Keep being awesome everyone! Good morning all! A couple updates for today: - I’m just waiting on the last couple clients to choose their spots, but otherwise I’m fully booked through December! Thank you everyone for your support and trust during these Covid times...I’m very grateful to be one of the small businesses that survived the worst of this year, and it’s all thanks to you - I’ll be off from December 23-January 3 taking a much needed rest after the busy holiday season. There is no room for new clients yet, but during my December time off I’ll be looking at my books to see where I can fit new people.

My pricing has been restructured to be inclusive, effective immediately. The outdated 'ladies'', 'men's' and 'kids'' style of pricing hasn't sit well with me for a long time. My services are inclusive of all humans, including ages, genders, tastes and presentations - and the wording of my price list has not been - and it's way past time to correct this. All of you are currently paying the right fees, so no changes are necessary, but going forward this is how I will be adverti...sing cuts to new clients: Tailored - About 60-90mins, employs the full range of my training in hair type, face analysis, precision and creative techniques to create a look that works for your styling regimen, frame, features and and tastes. Examples: my signature Curly Cut, a buzzcut/undercut with 'tattooing' or a tight skin fade with pompadour. Regular - About 30mins and is a simple formula cut, done without embellishment or tailoring. Example: Generally this is for quick clipper cuts but there are some exceptions. Teen cuts 10-15yrs fall into this category regardless of hair length. Basic - Just cut it! Doesn't need to be perfect. Takes 10mins or less. Example: Kids under 10 or adult who only wears a ponytail and needs it cut quickly straight across. If anyone feels I could improve the wording, please let me know.

Keeping in mind that the Covid-19 crisis is far from over, I have a new rule that we all must follow. From now on, clients must reschedule their visit if you or anyone in your household have any symptoms of illness whatsoever. There will be no penalties for last minute rescheduling if you wake up feeling ill on the day of your appointment. Please text or email me if you feel sick...even if its 5mins before Im to arrive! I will understand and be grateful for your honesty. I... also will reschedule appointments if I have any symptoms whatsoever. I understand this year is a bad one for seasonal allergies. As you all know I have mild animal allergies that cause a sniffle or hoarse voice. I recently adopted a cat whom Im still getting used to - I get sniffly just being in the same room...and antihistamines only do so much! There is no need to reschedule if you have allergies. We will just use the honour system, handwashing, masks etc. Please note that I have my Red Seal and a license to do business as a mobile hair salon. The Red Seal 2-hour written and 8-hour practical exams include testing on disinfection and sanitation protocols. In order to get a business license I had to pass a health inspection and phone interview by a Vancouver Coastal Health representative. Rest assured that I have always and will always do my best to keep virus (and other pathogen) transmission risk as low as possible. By the looks of my inbox this morning, many of you have heard the news! Yes, hair salons will be permitted to reopen - I understand the date will be May 19. There will be new safety regulations and I will adhere to those as best I can. Ive been slow at rescheduling everyone and still have most of the originally booked clients for May 19 onwards in my calendar, so I will leave them where they are and book everyone else wherever I can. There will be a longer than normal delay... in my responses as I catch up with everyones messages. Please note that I will not be accepting any more new clients until all of my current clientele are seen. Thanks for all of your patience and support! I am super excited to get back to work!

Although I understand that many of you are badly needing hair services of all kinds, I can't afford to risk your health, my health, my financial security or the reputation of my business. If I were to see clients, I could be fined up to $1000 as an individual and $50,000 as a business owner for br...eaking social distancing bylaws. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this absolutely surreal, crazy time. I hope you are all well - and rest assured I will be SO EXCITED to see all of you when I'm allowed to work again! *********************************************************************** PS - Some of you may be tempted to DIY your haircuts or colour. Haircuts - go ahead, and have fun! It's just hair, and it'll grow back. No biggie. Haircolour - Eeeeepppp!!! Please do not? I don't trust any online-ordered dyes; they could be knockoffs or old product. Box dye is also a no-no for like a zillion reasons. Remember that colour corrections can get very expensive and usually take multiple sessions. Just let your natural colour grow in, and I will take excellent care of you when I see you again. And finally!!! Is anyone interested in tutorials of any kind? I would be happy to do this. I was thinking I could do a quick step-by-step on how to do a basic clipper cut for short hair. My short haired clients seem to be suffering the most right now. Any clippers will do - even dog grooming ones! What do you all think?

Hey, so I was as Costco yesterday (Willingdon location), and aside from their fantastic new social distancing policies, they have decent clipper sets in stock. Ill be doing a live video tutorial for a basic clipper cut sometime in the next week, so if your short-haired loved ones are desperate for haircuts youre in luck. Youll get to meet Jason in this video! I dont talk much about my personal life - appointments are all about YOU - but its been an exciting 18 months. Wi...lliam and I separated in January 2019 after 11 years together. Nothing bad happened; we simply grew very far apart and realized there was no reconciling our separate, super different longterm life goals. Were still good friends and talk every day, but more importantly were happier and much closer to living our best lives now that were separated. ANYWAY! Jason and I have been dating for a while and although we arent ready to move in together, we decided to be quarantine buddies (for sanity reasons...were both extroverts) and have been living together since the middle of March. Back to the point... Part of this tutorial will include how to do a quick sides+neck trim. This will help if youre too shy to attempt a full clipper cut; its also great for kids hair. Ill also be doing a bang trim tutorial :) Stay tuned!

Hi everyone. BC Health has ordered all personal service industry to shut down, including hair salons: we are unable to practice social distancing due to the nature of our work. This means its time for me to take a 2-week break. I am happy to report that I currently have no symptoms and have not knowingly been exposed to anyone with any symptoms of any illness whatsoever. Ill be on lockdown at home for the next two weeks to make sure I stay healthy. I am planning to return o...n April 6 unless otherwise mandated by the province. Those of you with appointments between now and then will receive an email from me today; we will choose a new appointment time based on each of your individual hair needs and comfort level with having visitors in your home. This is a scary time for me as a self-employed person, so rest assured I will be back as soon as possible! A huge thank you goes out to all of you for your ongoing support. I will post updates here before returning to work. Be well. Im looking forward to serving you again soon.

If you or anyone you live with is diagnosed with Covid-19 or experiencing symptoms that suggest you may have this virus, please contact me to reschedule your appointment. Im not super worried on my own behalf, but I do have 4 clients with moderate to severe chronic respiratory conditions, two elderly ladies with compromised immune systems (one who sees me weekly), many pregnant women and families with young babies. I also have a brand new nephew who is only a couple weeks ...old and a very good friend who is pregnant. It is extremely important to me to protect the people around me during this time. My immune system is healthy enough that I might become only mildly ill, or even more dangerous: become a symptom-free carrier. EDIT***After giving it some thought, Ive decided not to allow people with symptoms to continue their appointments with masks. There is too much risk at this stage; please reschedule if you have symptoms. There is no penalty for rescheduling and I absolutely understand if you need to do so, no matter what If I start experiencing symptoms, I will be tested. If I am found to have the virus I will be self-isolating and all appointments will be canceled for two weeks. Rest assured that I am doing my very best to avoid passing any germs along at this time! The weeks before and afterwards are almost booked, and all evenings and weekends are now fully booked (unless Im able to squeeze anyone in who lives close by the people whove booked).
