BC and Quebec are recognized as leaders and have consistently been forerunners in new affordable housing production Since 2001, Canada has produced a total of... 91,000 affordable housing units and together, BC and Quebec have contributed over 70,000 of these." Our members have done some pretty amazing things and we know their hard work has strongly contributed to the above numbers. AHMA is always excited to see them being acknowledged for their commitment to their communities. Vancouver Native Housing Society's very own Dave Eddy and Robert Brown presented at Canadian Housing and Renewal Association's Congress this April and the presentation was included in a new report. The report "Community Housing for Resilient Communities" authored by Jessica Chen and supported by CHRA looks at successful community housing projects in Quebec and BC. Today we were lucky to have a visit from David Eddy from the Vancouver Native Housing Society. David spoke to us about the Society’s mandate to address the need...s of marginalised indigenous populations and the Society’s programs designed to highlight and celebrate indigenous traditional, cultural and artistic practices. Over the weekend we lost an important member of our VNHS family. Our hearts go out to Pam's family, friends and loved ones. We will miss her so much, but are so grateful to have been able to spend many years working alongside Pam.

It is with great sadness that we inform the community with the passing of our beloved Flora. Flora passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Flora worked with VNHS for 30 years and was a staple and grounding force in our community. Whenever you walked into our office, she was the first person to greet you and the last to send you off. Flora loved everyone who walked through our doors unconditionally and treated them with kindness. She will be dearly missed. If you can, please ...consider donating to her family to help them bring her home to their community in Northern BC. If you are unable to donate, please send a prayer and love Flora's way. https://www.gofundme.com/help-to-bring-our-mother-home

Please see below for an update about the repairs/re-development of our Frances Street building, as a result of a fire that occurred in December 2017. We thank everyone for their continued patience and support as we try to determine our best course of action to deal with the damage!
