"Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea monsters and all-deeps" In preparation for fall, and seeking God's plan for ourselves and VRC, this week John and I are... practicing fixed hour prayer (or the divine hours at it is sometimes called). We find it a good way to re-train our minds to zoom back into heavenly perspective. This reading from Psalm 148 really caught my heart yesterday during the devotions. More modern bible versions reduce the term sea monsters to creatures, or fishes, but somehow I think the classic sea monsters and all-deeps represents better the shadows we find in the world and our minds in this time, and puts them under the firm order of the steady hand of God.
