As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to grow, we would like to give our customers a little piece of mind in knowing that we are implementing preventative measures by disinfecting all customer vehicles before and after work is done. We ask that customers wipe down their vehicles prior to their appointment as a way to protect our staff while we service your vehicle. Stay safe and healthy!

Checking your vehicle’s antifreeze level and battery strength during the cold winter months is a simple and inexpensive way to make sure your car won’t leave you stranded. Antifreeze is important because it is used to cool the car's engine, as well as protect it from freezing in cold weather. It also acts as the key agent in providing heat inside the car’s cabin. Your battery also has a tough job during the cold winter months. Your vehicle’s engine requires more power to sta...rt when the temperatures are colder and those temperatures make it harder for your battery to provide power. Cold weather slows everything down, especially the chemical reaction happening inside your car battery. In fact, at 0C, a car’s battery loses about 35% of its strength. At Vancouver Transmission we offer an 85-point Winter Check-Over where not only do we inspect all lights, wiper function, brakes, steering and suspension components, w e load test the battery to ensure it is keeping charge and doing its job during start-up, and we also test coolant strength and top up all fluids including a winterized washer fluid. Give us a call at 604-590-8404 to book your Winter Check-Over!
