NBA STARS ADOPTING PLANT-BASED DIETS TO INCREASE PERFORMANCE & MUSCLE MASS NBA player Bismack Biyombo says he’s gained 20 pounds of muscle since going plant-based. Switching his diet has helped cut inflammation and provides him with ample energy to run up and down the court and lift every day. More and more athletes are adopting a plant-based diet for ethical and health reasons, and nowhere is this more true than in the NBA. On the Brooklyn Nets alone, four players are plant...-based. Bismack believes there’s one primary reason for this: a quick turnaround. People who adopt a plant-based diet, he says, notice a burst of energy after giving up animal products. You want to be more energetic, he says. That’s more important than anything. #Vancouvervegetariansociety #plantbaseddiet #animalfree #environment #plantbasedvancouver #plantbasedliving #govegannow #animalsmatter #vegetarianism #veganuary #animalactivist #animalrights #veganislove #veganprotein #protein #veganfitness #veganbodybuilding #muscle #musclebuilding #nba

"There are many concerns about the drawbacks of turning to a vegan diet. These downsides include a higher stroke risk, choline crisis, mood problems, and hair loss. Although they seem frightening, with the right nutrient intake and vitamins, they can easily be avoided. But the benefits of just eating extra vegetables and fruit are profound and include a longer life, improved heart health, weight loss, and reduced risk of diabetes, just to name a few of the important ones. ... Everything comes down to the quality of the food consumed and balanced nutrition." This stat came from a Vegan Impact Report which also stated that if just 60% of the world population became vegan, there would be a 42% decrease in emissions. So if you're concerned about climate change, global warming, and the future of our planet then looking at your diet is one of the easiest ways to make a difference. LIKE AND SHARE THIS POST! ... 2040 isn't that far away but with meat alternatives getting more varied and accessible we can actually see this happening. ESPECIALLY if predictions about lab meat are correct. We never thought veganism and vegetarianism would be as mainstream as it is now, so what do you think about this prediction? This stat is from 2011 (from the International Livestock Research Institute) but we're willing to be that in 2020 it's not far off. This is WILD. One study from 1950 to 2018 90% of dolphins killed are killed by the fishing industry due to bycatch, not predators, disease, not even pollution or targeted hunting. A huge amount of fish, mammals, crustaceans, and marine life are being taken out of the ocean simple because they are getting caught in nets or fishing gear that is not intended for them. Yes we can fight for more sustainably-sourced seafood but what's more effective? Not supporting the industry at all.... Uggghhhh who has heard this argument? "If we don't eat the animals...what are we going to do with the billions of animals around the world? SET THEM FREE?" smh... AllCreatures.Org sums it nicely:... "Somewhere between 9-10 billion animals are raised and slaughtered for food every year, just in the United States. The reason for this astonishingly high number is simple: there are consumers who eat very large amounts of animal flesh. The supply of animals meets the demand of buyers. When the philosophy of animal rights triumphs, however, and people become vegetarians, we need not fear that there will be billions of cows and pigs grazing in the middle of our cities or in our living rooms. Once the financial incentive for raising billions of these animals evaporates, there simply will no be not be millions of these animals. And the same reasoning applies in other cases in the case of animals bred for research, for example. When the philosophy of animal rights prevails, and this use of these animals cease, then the financial incentive for breeding millions of them will cease, too." What do you think? Can't imagine your pet dog or cat spending their life in a cramped warehouse, living in filth, and being 'processed' while terrified? Pigs, cows, goats, chickens, have personalities just like our beloved pets. In fact, some studies have shown that pigs are as intelligent as some chimps!... But honestly, where do we draw the line? Is it intelligence that determines the value of life? Is it emotional intelligence? If you believe in compassion and empathy for our pets, then your values extend to all animals. We've been conditioned to believe that animals we consume are different. Out of sight, out of mind. #govegetarian #vegetarianquotes #eatvegetarian #goveg #eatplants #plantbased #veganfacts #foodfacts #govegan

A 2018 report stated that the biggest way to reduce your impact on our planet is by reducing your meat and dairy intake. How is this possible? The Guardian newspaper summed up the findings in the report*:... The new research shows that without meat and dairy consumption, global farmland use could be reduced by more than 75% an area equivalent to the US, China, European Union and Australia combined and still feed the world. Loss of wild areas to agriculture is the leading cause of the current mass extinction of wildlife. The new analysis shows that while meat and dairy provide just 18% of calories and 37% of protein, it uses the vast majority 83% of farmland and produces 60% of agriculture’s greenhouse gas emissions. Other recent research shows 86% of all land mammals are now livestock or humans. The scientists also found that even the very lowest impact meat and dairy products still cause much more environmental harm than the least sustainable vegetable and cereal growing. Sharks are apex predators which means they are the top of the food chain within the ocean and help regulate the eco-systems in which they inhabit. Without sharks, no one really knows what would happen to our oceans but the demand for shark fins and shark cartilage is still high. This demand is not only pushing many shark populations extinction but it highlights how our oceans are very much 'out of sight, out of mind'. If you want to preserve our oceans and our sharks, avoid ...shark products but you also should also consider eliminating seafood from your diet as well. Other species of seafood like tuna result in a high amount of by-catch including sharks, crustaceans, other fish, sea turtles, and more. #sharktale #sharkbites #sharksarefriends #sharkresearch #sharkwater #saveouroceans #seashepherd #savetheplanet #thereisnoplanetb
