Meeting tonight. On the agenda; 1. Grizzly bear management (or mismanagement) strategies, data collection, and how we as a club or individuals can get involved. Looking for ideas. 2. Proposals for regulation changes. For those of you who wonder, regulation changes and input start right here at your local club level. We have a working relationship with our biologists and we definitely have a say in what happens. So if you got ideas, or want to understand why things are the wa...y they are then come on out and be a part of the discussion. 3. Elk/Rancher conflict and what to do about it. NVSA clubhouse 7 pm tonight

I’m a trophy hunter. That means more often than not nothing dies as I have lived through the phase of having to kill to make the hunt successful. Im a trophy h...unter and my home is adorned with artistic symbols to remind me of the wild places I have seen and ventured through and the hardships I endured to participate in the natural cycle. I’m a trophy hunter and I have thousands of photos of people, places, things and animals both dead and alive. I’m a trophy hunter and I have spent 40 days on Kodiak Island in search of a bear I have yet to see despite seeing bears daily. I treasure the pain and hardship of the terrain and the weather and my surly guide. I’m a trophy hunter and the money I spend in pursuit of this passion enables conservation and ensures wildlife is an asset to be preserved for the future under the indisputable and proven wildlife management science that is glaringly apparent from the Luangwa Valley to the Mackenzie Mountians. I’m a trophy hunter and I eat the meat and display the trophy just as our ancestors have done for millennia. I’m a trophy hunter and I have cut up moose quarters on a coffee table in a fancy hotel in anchorage. I’m a trophy hunter and have personally delivered hundreds of pounds of protein to folks that appreciate it from Zambia to Alaska. I’m a trophy hunter and have sat around campfires all over the world with my children and watched them see a real world and not a zoo and come to understand other cultures in a way that Bill Morneau’s trip to a Kenyan game park cannot. I’m a trophy hunter and I have rescued animals in distress and watched them live another day. I’m a trophy hunter and I have killed a suffering animal hit by a car with a knife in front of folks who wanted to call the vet and the police. I know how to end suffering and feel the emotion that goes with it. I’m a trophy hunter and I put down my dogs myself when the time comes because I understand death and life and knowing my own hand doing the deed is infinitely more connnected. I’m a trophy hunter and if I had not had the means to do it I would be happy to undertake my passion in search of rabbits. I’m a trophy hunter and rarely kill game anymore and prefer to mentor others who may not have the means or experience to go down the path I did without guidance. I’m a trophy hunter and I understand that what I can learn from an animal that has died from my efforts is exponentially more meaningful than watching animal planet or going to a game park. I’m a trophy hunter and I feel emotional and reflective after every kill I have made. I have examined closely scars from a lion attack and severe injuries sustained during the wild worlds cycle of hardship, survival and death. I’m a trophy hunter and I know there are no natural deaths in the wilderness that are not gruesome. I’m a trophy hunter and I am happy to be a part of the cycle that ensures wildlife will continue to flourish under managed and regulated hunting worldwide.
