Vancouver Island Reptile Show 19.10.2020

Hey everyone, I know information has been a little be sparce, but we assure you behind the scenes our biggest push right now is trying to make sure that everything is in place when and if we get the go ahead for the show in july. With that said, we did receive an email today, that we where not expecting due to the shut down, from the venue that states that currently they are expecting to be open and operational in July, and we are still on track for the show. We will continue to update as soon as information is available, and if you are considering vending, even if you are on the fence considering the current state, please, shoot us a message or an email and we can keep you updated or get you set up.

While saddening, it wasnt unexpected, and we appreciate the BC Reptile Club (BCRC) putting this out here as early as possible, and making sure to take care of their vendors. Noone putting on shows is taking this situation lightly, but we are still optimistic that our show in July will be good to go, and well be in abbotsford in september for the BCRC Fall show

COVID19. We have been working in conjunction with not only the venue, but keeping track of the governmental restrictions and suggestions both locally and north american. As of today, the 2020 Vandouver Island Reptile Show is on track and moving forward. We understand the responsibility to the community, and feel it is far to early to cancel anything, as the CDC restrictions are only recommending 8 week limits currently. We will update as often as we have news, but currently ...are still booking vendors and moving ahead. We apologize for the lack of updates, as we have all been effected by the response to this virus, but will try to be much more active since we have been able to get a handle on the situation for now. Tune in for more information coming very soon, if you are interested in vending, reach out to us and we will fill you in, but advertising and more info will be posted in the next week or so. Thank you all for your support and be safe. Practice good health and safety and avoid crowds for now everyone. This will get better and we will recover,

We strongly believe that informed owners are key to a strong future for the hobby. These guys just got started on the podcast but are working on some awesome episodes and talking to the right people to get the right information, plus they're seriously good people. I'd never gotten into podcasts but this is great for when I'm working in the reptile room, and if you like to stay informed and learn some things you didnt know that you need to know, go check them out, give them a like and a listen, and let them know that the island show sent them over and that they should come down to record an episode

VENDOR BOOKING IS OFFICIALLY OPEN. Crown Pythons and Tarantula Canada are proud to help bring you the 2020 Vancouver Island Reptile show. For our 4th year weve take a huge leap forward into a much bigger and better venue, and a complete redesign of the show. This year instead of buying table space vendors can buy booths and design their 10x10 space however they see fit. We want to give you the chance to build a much more intimate display if that's your goal, and give you ...the room to stretch out a little. We want to build a bigger and more interactive show, and we think weve done it. The past 3 years where good, but our space was small and difficult to get to. July 18 and 19 we will taking over the Juan de Fuca Recreation center We have more space better accessibility, centrally located in Colwood and just feet from the bus transfer station. We have access to food and lodgings, and for those visiting it is easier to get to than ever before. Were sorry for the delay but we had some ,major details to button up and wherent willing to go halfway. This is going to be an amazing year for both the vendors and the attendees. If you're thinking about vending, message us here on the facebook page, or email [email protected] Posters will be together soon as we give our last couple of sponsors a chance to be on board, but we want to make sure to thank not only Crown pythons and Tarantula Canada but also @ctc predator feed for their continued support. 1. The BCRC Annual General Meeting is officially scheduled for January 18. The BCRC is not only the only Registered Not FOR Profit in BC invested in our interests as a hobby, but also currently establishing a rescue and fostering system so that we can ensure the care of these amazing animals on even more levels. For those that don't know, this meeting will elect new board members, and is a chance for we the reptile community to voice our concerns and even hopes and dreams for t...he future of the hobby, and push towards a future that at the very least keep the privelages we currently have. Please, get involved, support our community it's important on so many levels especially now with the pending legislation in Ontario which is threatening the privelages of hobbiests there. An organization with members backing it has the power to fight for what we want to keep, as a whole, we can be powerful, but as lone hobbiests it would be a near impossible feat. See more
