I love my job.

I hope everybody has an awesome holiday and that you get to spend it with someone you love. The grooming shop is now closed until January 4th, but appointments can be made online for after that. I will be periodically checking messages in the meantime, but if I don't promptly answer, please be patient, I will eventually! For now, I am on Denman Island for a couple of days and my phone doesn't work over here at all. Meanwhile, enjoy and stay safe!

Today is opening day in the new shop!

Update: The tub is here!!!! Yay! Picking it up tomorrow from Cumberland. Then going to Home Depot for a hot water tank. The plumber is coming on Monday. I am hoping to be up and running in the new location by the middle of next week. It is finally coming together! The painting is all finished. When I thought about it and counted, I came to realize that I have built 6 different shops in the Comox Valley since I moved here in 1994. This one is the nicest yet, and hopefully I will get to stay in this location. I am so looking forward to welcoming everyone and seeing all my furry friends there. I have also recently taken a refresher course on sanitation procedures for the grooming salon, with a focus on Covid-19, and am anti-Covid ready. I will take some photos soon and post them. :-)

Update: It was a productive day today! I brought the washer/dryer that I bought from one of my wonderful clients to the new shop with the help of furry Miss Lucy's family. I finished most of the painting. And best of all, I found a plumber that has time next week to plumb in the new tub (which will hopefully arrive on Friday), the hot water tank (which I still need to get from Home Depot), and the washer and dryer. The first plumber that came wasn't available until October 19th, the second one simply wouldn't return any of my calls after coming and giving ne a quote (so unprofessional!) and I was starting to feel pretty disheartened. Hopefully by two weeks from now I will be up and running!

Update: The painting in the new shop is mostly done, just a little left. The tub is tentatively scheduled to arrive around September 25th, very exciting! If I could just find a plumber who would actually return my calls....the service industry in this town is...spotty. Maybe everyone is already super busy? I will be so glad to finally have everything done and just concentrate on grooming. I have been burning the candle at both ends for some time!

Update: The signs went up yesterday on the windows of the new shop, very exciting! I am waiting for a tub to come from the US and be plumbed in, and there is a little more painting to be done. Hopefully I will be in there in 2-3 more weeks. It is starting to seem real! The new address will be: 2270 Cliffe Ave., Unit 109-B. It is in the Mansfield Centre across from the Husky gas station on Cliffe and Mansfield if anyone wants to drive by. The phone number will remain the same.... I am looking forward to seeing everyone there In the meantime, I am still taking appointments for the shop in Tintown. I specialise in one-on-one grooming with a very calm atmosphere, taking the time to make each dog's unique beauty shine. I spent 10 hours yesterday painting in my upcoming new shop, and still only managed to get less than a third of it done. But by the end of the day my legs felt ...like rubber and I felt kind of in an altered state. Do you think I might be just a little out of shape from all those months of enforced doing nothing? Aargh. But it will all be worth it I am sure. #totallyoutofshape #newbeginningsahead p.s. I am looking for a washer/dryer for the new shop if anyone has a set they might like to sell.

Hi everyone! I am finally back in the Comox Valley, and will be out of the 14 day quarantine period in a couple of of days. I will be getting organised to return to grooming, hopefully within the next couple of weeks. I have a list started of people who would like to be contacted for appointments once I am up and running.
