Our mission for our Variety Tree of Hearts campaign this year is to ensure families have one less thing to worry about this holiday season. Families with children like Ryan, a 9 year old boy with Autism who is currently non-verbal and is using a speech generating device (IPAD) as his primary method of communication and needs frequent support from a SLP to expand his communicative competence. Variety was able to step in and provide Ryan and his family with tuition and speech therapy to help with his communication and education. Donate today and help more kids like Ryan while leaving a heartfelt message on our virtual Tree of Hearts! #TreeOfHearts http://bit.ly/3oW9psg

Please join us by sharing your heart with BC’s kids with special needs. Kids like Jenna, a 14 year old girl who was born with Cerebral Palsy, GMFCS level IV. Thanks to our generous donors, Variety stepped in and provided Jenna with a power wheelchair for independent mobility. Donate today and leave your heartfelt message to help more kids like Jenna thrive! #TreeOfHearts Global BC Community Central http://bit.ly/3oW9psg

Donating today can help kids like Bella. https://bit.ly/2IplBlk Her mom tells us how Type 1 Diabetes has affected her daughter Bella and her families lives. We had no way of knowing what this diagnosis meant until we lived it. Her life is full of calculations not only calculating carbohydrates and fibre, insulin dosing and blood sugar estimations. It’s calculating life. Every moment of every day she needs to think about how she is feeling, how much energy she is expending ...and how she can participate in normal childhood activities while seeming as normal as possible. My own health suffers because a good night’s sleep is not possible. I test her a minimum of once a night while she sleeps and worry for every other hour of the night. Diabetes has also affected my ability to earn as it takes a special employer to understand the sudden absences and missed days so I can take care of her. And it has affected our family forever." #DiabetesAwarness #Worlddiabetesday #Enddiabetes #T1D See more

CGMs provide data that helps doctors and families better adjust insulin levels to match a child’s ever-evolving insulin needs. And perhaps most exciting of all, CGMs can now integrate with some insulin pumps further reducing the risk of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia by instructing insulin pumps when to shut off or increase insulin to keep blood sugar levels in range. Donate today to help more kids like Coraline https://bit.ly/2IplBlk #diabetesawareness #Enddiabetes #Type1diabetes #T1D
