It is often thought steps are more challenging than facial expressions but it takes some indulgence to come to terms with the fact that it is quite the opposite. Even during these testing times when dance recitals have become a distant dream, we are inspired to deck up and dance in our home space before artists and teachers who are experts! Our student Georgina, dancing for TMS Keralolsavam 2020, the first ever online yuvajanolsavam in Toronto and student Harini performing for another online dance show. Our students came up with very interesting dance puppets which was an assignment for the week! What was thought to be a simple cut and paste homework really sparked some creativity and they came up with such beautiful, professional looking, motor enabled dancing puppets! And more importantly family members were involved in the projects! Congratulations to all my beloved students and family members for surprising me with their creativity and hardwork! A teacher has no other joy than having dedicated and passionate students! Each puppet hangs in their practice rooms as an inspiration to learning this beautiful art form ! Every once in a while, when the old treasure box in the attic gets dusted, it brings back the memories of times that you sailed through no matter what! I remember going on this wonderful stage with a 102 degree fever, but the music and the dance just lifted me away to another world!
