It’s time for another tattoo fundraiser! This time I’ve decided to do it in a raffle format rather than winner pays all. In celebration and recognition of Black History Month, 100% of the proceeds will go to Vancouver’s Hogan’s Alley Society- a non profit organization which advocates for Black Vancouverites who have endured the legacies of urban renewal and their erasure from the official historical narrative. (And no I do not pay myself to do the tattoo) ... My last fundraiser made $350, let’s try to get to $500 this time! How it works: raffle entries are $15 each, ($30 for 2 entries, $45 for 3 entries, etc) winner will be randomly selected on February 15th. Anyone can enter, you do not need to be following me on Instagram. The more times you enter, the more chances to win. Prize: winner will received a free custom tattoo, up to 4 inches, (valued up to $500) anything you want as long as it’s in keeping with my style and policies! It was recently my birthday (thanks for all the messages from those of you who knew!) Birthday’s have always been hard for me, so I usually keep things pretty private and quiet regardless. I know it’s cliche but I really do spend the day reflecting on the year I’ve left behind, thinking about what I want out of the year ahead, and as always putting an enormous amount of pressure on myself. I’m not a fan of toxic positivity, and I’m always feeling alllll the feels, but I did... manage to find a few great things I accomplished this year. One of those things was letting go of some very toxic people and situations- both in my personal and professional life. I think I’ve finally learned to start speaking up for myself, to show up for myself, to set clear boundaries. If something or someone makes me feel like shit, I’m no longer here for it. I feel brave for doing this, stronger, lighter, happier. And I’m proud of myself. If you feel like sharing, let me know one thing you’re happy about from the last year, and if there isn’t one, you can feel free to just tell me life is shit. Cause that’s valid too.
