When it comes to playing covers, there are two approaches: "Note for note, cut for cut" and the "create your own" out of an existing tune. I'm more into the se...cond one. More creativity, more freedom and less copy-paste. And that's what I try to implement and teach my guitar students. Create your own style. I was lucky to get that support with Rockwell, Jaz D's, other groups I played with and now with The Rockies. There's no right or wrong, good or bad. Just preferences. Rock on everyone!
