Meet @collinchan! Colin is a Canadian artist, Corel Painter Master Elite and award winning filmmaker who is going to do live illustration demo at #connectedbydesignvcc on July 22, 1pm-3pm PST. Colin graduated with a B.A in illustration from Sheridan College. His realistic approach to digital and traditional artwork (including acrylic, oil, inks, watercolour and other mixed mediums) explores themes of humanity, truth and life. He has done art for companies including Wacom, Anker, Corel Painter, Zhiyun Tech, Moza, Olloclip, Insta360, Pentel Pens, Daler Rowney and much more. Outside of painting he is closely associated with independent film and you can see his most recent short films on Youtube.

Meet Amy Balliett! Amy is an author, public speaker, founder and CEO of the visual content marketing and communications agency, @killervisualstrategies (formerly Killer Infographics) who is going to talk at #connectedbydesignvcc on July 22, 1pm-3pm PST. She owned her first company, a candy store and ice cream parlor, at the age of 17 before heading off for college. She subsequently built a successful career in SEO and marketing, and has headed up marketing at several compani...es. In 2009, she and her past co-founder partnered to build lead-gen-based websites, but in the fall of 2010, the business pivoted to an entirely new model: visual communication design. In the years since, she has grown Killer Visual Strategies to become the industry leader, driving visual strategy and campaigns for global brands including Microsoft, Boeing, Adobe, Nikon, Starbucks, the National Endowment for the Arts, the United Nations, and more. Meet Mark Busse! Mark is a creative strategist, communication designer, engagement specialist, facilitator, and leadership coach who is going to talk at #connectedbydesign on July 22, 1pm-3pm PST. He believes in the power of curiosity, creativity, conversation, and community as catalysts for positive impact and change. Marks career has put him on the frontier of applying design methods to social and strategic questions in business, community and the arts, and he is an outsp...oken design industry writer, speaker, and activist, serving on various industry boards, advisory councils, and education programs. For the past five years Busse served as Director of TILT Curiosity Labs at HCMA Architecture + Design, helping the firm explore, experiment, and seek new discoveries, approaches, and opportunities.
