I made a telescope! S. stated as she held it up to her eye. How did you make it? I want one. O. asked. It was so easy. I rolled the paper then the tricky part was taping it. S. replied. I want one. O. stated. It’s kind of tricky. You can have this one and I’ll make a new one for me. S. said as she passed it to O.... S. gave me her telescope and she is going to make another one so we both have one. O. turned to me to explain. S. then got another paper and rolled it up. While holding it with one hand she used her other hand to cut the tape into long stripes which she then rapped around her paper. Now we both have one, let’s go on a telescope hunt. S. said to O. Today, we brought out soft pastels for the children to explore as a new art medium. During our group discussion, we talked about the pastels and the different ways to use them. While reading a book about our hearts and how they work, I asked the children’s to put their hands on their hearts to see if they could feel their heart beat. K. put her hand on her heart and began singing, Oh Canada. I smiled. K. began to explain, When my Daddy sings before a hockey game he puts his hand on his heart and sings Oh Canada. #ordinarymoments #makingmemories #reggiopreschool #vancouverkids
