But I pursued another dream and opened my own clothing boutique in 2010, and although I had to close it last year .. im proud that I always pushed myself in those 9.5 years. @velvetmossxo . . Looking back at the store, it also made me realize how much I loved staging my space, merchandising was story telling to me. So there is another active interest that Im adding to the kit. #backtoschool . . Still unsure where my dreams now are taking me, or if im sure what they are. But Im passionate about still being creative, and to continue growing. . . Its good to look back. See how far weve come. . . Two years ago - today. Ive been missing my little space lately. ... Id be accepting fall orders now and Remerchandising the floor for transition. My favourite is to redo the space and tell a story. . . Trying to reinvent myself and my business model during a pandemic ... is well Challenging. As Im sure we all feel challenged at this time. Facing the fear in the face. . . I was terrified to share this, oh the judgment it may bring. And I had to ask myself some hard questions. .... . As Im a stylist myself, and I love the art in a photograph. Its the creativity, the work and story behind it, the image that is cultivated after those collaborations. And Im a huge supporter of empowering women to own their power and their own beauty and parade it. There is zero shame of being aware of your presence. So why do not allow myself the same celebration. . . Im not looking for approval or praise. Im pushing against a boundary that I have surrounded myself in since I was a teen. And showing the work of an amazing photographer who literally wants every woman to love herself, and see herself through what she sees in her lens. Im a 44 year old woman who was horrible to herself in her younger years, and is trying to release shackles. . . I wanted to have fun, be the subject instead of the creator, feel sexy and powerful.
