Last week, Recruiter for Product Management at Shopify Yiorgo Boudouris joined us at our Job Search Clinic to give some insights to our job seeking Fellows. Here's three (of many!) great tips he shared with our Fellows: When it comes to cold outreach of any kind, target something specific to connect with someone on. Whether it is a hiring manager, recruiter or even someone currently in the role, what do you have in common?... Be aware of key metrics within your field, do some research and don't shy away from asking about metrics in an interview. No one is ever "rejected" from a job, there was merely a candidate better suited. Yiorgo discussed the idea of "release"; when you are released from the hiring process instead of rejected; it's a much more positive approach. What advice would you give job seeking recent grads? Comment below Special thank you to Yiorgo for sharing his time and wisdom
