From Armstrong. Ok. So let's do a rough budget. 2.5 hours Arena time per week - $$250/ week... 2 refs - $200 BCLA fees (player cards plus insurance) this one you need to work on. BCLA is looking at their fees for this year so I would budget $25 per card plus $385 for insurance So let's assume we start on the 25th of September. We would get 6 games in before Nov 1. So that would be a 6 game season Arena $1500 Refs $1200 Insurance $740 Card Fees (40 players @$25/player) $1000 Misc Totals for both teams $4500 $2250 per team $113/player. So I would plan to charge players $125 each to add some contingency to the budget. Brennan - I personally have no faith in the BCLA to give us reduced player card fees. I’m going to assume they will charge us the full amount roughly $60. If we can field a full roster I would ask for $150$ per Player for 6 games. Worst case scenario we add a couple bucks back into the team account. No practice. We can have unofficial practices at the outdoor box perhaps. Probably can’t have any fans. Officially Duane Barr any jr. graduates that might want to play if there’s open spots?
Tell the world Drew!
We are sad to announce that the TOSLL is officially cancelling the 2020 season. The organization would like to thank all the players, coaches, volunteers, and sponsors who have stuck with us during the difficult times. We now look forward to the 2021 season with the same optimism we had for this season and growing the sport of lacrosse in the Okanagan.
Covid 19 update. The CLA has suspended all lacrosse until the end of April. The city of Vernon has cancelled all bookings until the end of May. With this new information a shortened season might still be possible but a full cancellation of the 2020 season seems more likely at this point. More to come.... We were very excited about the potential to improve on last season with a more experienced team and some new recruits. Thank you to all the players and sponsors that have showed support. We will make sure all sponsors and players that have already financially supported the team with sponsorship packages that those packages will be forwarded to the 2021 season.
Lacrosse on the rise again. Great to see more kids getting the opportunity to play.
