We’re so touched by the reaction from the public and media about our closure. We’re honoured by the kind words, and by all the people who want to have one more Vesuvio experience. We’re working with less staff than usual so we can adhere to the 2 metre distancing rule and the volume of orders has been overwhelming. We’re unable to manage the phone lines so we can't take any orders for deliveries, pre-orders or timed orders. We also don't have capacity to answer questions ...through our Facebook page or by email. We’re focusing on IN-PERSON orders ONLY. We know people are waiting for a long time in line outside the restaurant and we’re trying to get through orders as quickly as possible. There is a 2 pizza maximum per person, and pastas and other menu items are still available. We will not be selling individual slices of pizza. We’ve reduced our hours from now until Sunday to 3pm 9pm which will allow us the prep time required to try to meet the demand. Please be patient with us as we do our absolute best to fulfill as many orders as possible and also keep everyone safe. We appreciate your support.

We at Vesuvio have proudly served our valued customers and the community for over 63 years, but the time has come to say farewell. Our last day of operation for pickup and delivery will be Sunday April 19. Vesuvio has a rich history in this city. The business was built by the four Pugliese brothers, starting in 1957. It was the first New York style pizzeria in Toronto, and many future pizza restauranteurs learned from or were influenced by the Pugliese brothers. The... commitment to food quality helped Vesuvio thrive in the Junction despite the neighbourhood being under a dry prohibition-era designation, making it very difficult for restaurants to operate. The team at Vesuvio, along with other Junction business owners, were instrumental in finally abolishing prohibition in the neighbourhood in 1997. This helped revitalize the Junction, becoming one of Torontos newest economic and social hotspots. Vesuvio is still best known for our pizza and weve been honoured to be named on all the citys Best Pizza lists year after year. We have always felt that Vesuvio is more than a restaurant. Its a labour of love, its our second home, its where our families have grown up, its part of the community. Our sincere thanks to everyone who supported our family business and enjoyed our food and hospitality for the last 6 decades. It was our pleasure. Were also grateful to our dedicated staff for helping to make Vesuvio such a success over the years. We will dearly miss working alongside you every day. The decision to close was a difficult one, but like many restaurants, our business has been affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Were proud of what we have achieved and look to the future with optimism. And after 63 years, were also looking forward to a little downtime. We have good memories that well cherish forever, and we know that many of you do too.
