face cast done in handheld scanner. It is not 100% yet, but getting better for sure. I have been combining physical and digital lifecast. I think it will be ...100% digital soon. No distortion from lifecasting material. easy for actor. Faster, cleaner. Left is done in silicone, Repro 10 poured. Right is scanned with Artec Space Spider printed in Form3 See more

We are so excited to share new student work with you! Let's start with face masks of a different kind, what do you say? There's some prop heads in there too. Fabulous work from MKD40!
I modeled for our full head casting demo by the amazing Bruce Houston. Although I have done casting before, this was my first time being cast. Thanks to TAs Kelsey Kenyon and Brooke Churchill for the bald cap.
Lower left is our own Charlie Grant, getting down and dirty, working one of his many skills as a Puppeteer!
Some exciting work to reveal soon from our senior class, MKD40!
Congratulations to our two alumni on their LEO award wins for BEST MAKE-UP - Jennifer Gilevich and Amy-Leigh Poitras!
MKD41 meet their hackles and start the hair-laying journey. First up, wool crepe ... tomorrow, human hair!
Airbrushing make-up is far more than just spraying out foundation. We start with knowing the mechanics of the tool and develop precision application before we ever use it on a person. Later, we move into the many textural effects you can create for corrective, character and prosthetic make-ups. MKD41 is off to a strong start!
