The new Holocaust Memorial is award-winning piece of architecture in Ottawa! Daniel Libeskind was selected to design the monument after an international design competition. The team was led by Museum planner Gail Lord who worked with architect Daniel Libeskind, artist Edward Burtynsky, landscape architect Claude Cormier, and Holocaust scholar Dr. Doris Berger to create this amazing piece. The design of the monument is a elongated Star of David that has been Carved from the f...lat, ground plain of the historic LeBreton Flats, the Monument stands as a silent and dignified space shielded from the highway and road traffic providing controlled vistas toward the Canadian War Museum, the surrounding landscape and the Canadian Parliament. This Monument is a Landscape of Loss, Memory and Survival in which a star is created by six triangular volumes at each of its points organized around a large gathering space for ceremonies. Each one of these volumes provides a unique theme and ambiance for interpretation, contemplation and artistic expression. The Holocaust memorial monument was unveiled by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on September 27th. The monument is now open to the public and we definitely recommends checking it out!

Featured Artist: Gordon Harrison is an award winning Canadian landscape artist. Often described as a "celebration of colour", his work features a contemporary take on our vast Canadian landscapes. Harrison gained international recognition after winning best solo artist at the New York international art expo among more than 400 international artist in 2016.
