Sound therapy is said to help not only with physical illness but also with bringing balance to the emotions quiet to a busy mind. Most people feel calm and relaxed following treatment and for some, this feeling will last several days. Some people will experience an emotional release or fall asleep during sound baths which is totally ok. You can also have the sensations of floating, of the energy moving through your body, of tingling and temperature changes, of sonic skin massage, and being transported to another time and place. To those who are skeptical about this trendy-yet-ancient practice, think about the power of music that song that takes you out of your head and into your body; the soothing effect of the sounds of breaking waves; birds chirping at dawn all these sounds that bring joy, inspiration and aliveness. Sounds affect us on the deepest of levels. What people most appreciated is that this is a meditative experience without having to strive to meditate. I call it a more contemplative experience. A CRY FOR AUTHENTICITY THE NEED AND TO FIT TO BELONG. Stress. Discomfort.... Anxiety. Pain. . At some point in my life, I had to listen to my body. It definitely felt awkward at first, as I used to be so disconnected from it. Actually, to be frank, I was at war with it... . Over the years, during my own self-work, I realize that it all began during my childhood, as I watched and learned from what I saw. What is not said but shown. A tacit contract. What is deeply inside of us, a biological drive to the species survival coming from our past. To fit to belong. . This is my story but it is also the story of many. . Who we are is a very sensitive balance between attachment and authenticity. . Attachment is this gravitational force, this biological drive, that creates a huge pressure on our development as a child and by consequence on the adult we become. . So, as the personality we develop is not the reflexion of our true self. We are using a ton of energy to play the role of someone we are not. So let’s break the tacit contract together and be very clear: Who we need to be is no one but ourselves. Who we are is ENOUGH! As an adult, we have to reconcile those two essentials and non negotiable needs which are attachment and authenticity. This comes with us taking responsibility and regaining our sense of agency as the powerful manifestor of our life. This comes with looking deep inside ourselves with love and bringing our awareness to the patterns that limit our life. .
