FAQ: When do the Stay at Home order and lockdown end? I have seen several different dates and I’m confused! The province has several restrictions that expire at... different times, so it’s understandable to be confused! Currently in Ontario, both a Stay at Home order and a Provincewide Shutdown are in place. In terms of how these restrictions affect Ontarians’ day-to-day lives, the Stay at Home order requires people to stay home except for essential travel. On the other hand, the Provincewide Shutdown enhances public health and workplace safety measures. The Stay at Home order is part of Ontario’s State of Emergency. It expires on February 9 (unless renewed). The Provincewide Shutdown expires on February 11 (unless renewed). The date that an order or regulation was issued determines when it will expire. Because the Stay at Home order and Provincewide Shutdown were issued on different dates, they have different expiration dates as well.
