PLESE NOTE THIS IS FOR ALL LAMBTON COUNTY STUDENTS, ANY AGE.

At this time every year we are usually excited & proud to showcase the young talent of the LCCVI art students... but, with Covid-19, its been a rough year...to say the least. Unfortunately we can not hold an art exhibit at the hall this year. We would however, like to still make art and the students of Lambton County a priority, at Victoria Hall.... *CALL FOR STUDENT ART!!!! We are asking for any and all Lambton County students (any age) who have art at home and would like to be apart of a "virtual on line student art show", send an image of your work to us. We will create an album and video slideshow to show off your amazing skills. If you do not have a completed piece at home, there is still time. The deadline for submitting your image (up to 3 per artist) is Sunday April 26th. Lets keep young art alive and accessible... PLEASE SHARE, ENCOURAGE AND ASSIST. ******What you need****** -Photo of your work digitally downloaded and saved onto your device. -Create an Email to [email protected] by April 26th. -Attach your artwork image(s) into the email -Include your Name (first name only), the titles of each piece of artwork, and the mediums you used to create your masterpieces. Each year a local artist visits a grade 5/6, 6, and or 6/7 in one of the local schools to teach a short lesson in art, focusing on balance...lines, shapes, colours, details/texture, space/placement/perspective...then supports the children while they create their very own masterpiece. This year the school was Brigden Public School and the theme options were: - Walk in the Woods - Magical Garden... - Underwater Adventure Kids have such a raw creative imagination... they should be very proud of their work, now on display in the bar lobby area of Victoria Hall. For those asking...unfortunately their work is priceless (not for sale). Enjoy these images of the works, but please make time to view up close, in person during Victoria Hall hours... Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm and during show times. Enjoy!

Thank you to all the Winter Wonderland artists, for decorating the Victoria Hall Council chambers and bar lobby with your beautiful pieces of artwork. Congratulations to the many who sold their work. And a thank you to those new artwork owners.... The Art Committee volunteers will be taking the Winter Wonderland art down on Friday February 28th, we will be there from 11:00am until 3:00pm to accommodate for your pick up. If you can not be there in person, please see if a family member or friend can pick it up on your behalf and let us know this will be the case. Thanks again and hope to see your work on display soon. 2019 was a great year...A very heartfelt thank you to our amazing 2019 showcased artists, the town of Petrolia for always supporting our efforts and to the many visiting advocates. Bring on 2020... a wonderful line up of local artist shows in the planning. * A special thank you to the Art Committee volunteers for all your dedication.

Lets take a moment to congratulate Sarnias local artist, Carole Hodge, for winning the Peoples Choice Award in the latest Annual Juried Show Otherworldly This is Caroles first showing of her beautiful painting titled "the heavens declair" Congratulations Carole, on behalf of the Art Committee.

Halloween is over so we can officially start planning for... yep, Winter!!! We may dread the cold and snow but we can not deny the beauty of the holiday season... especially from inside Victoria Hall exploring the amazing artistic talents. We welcome all local artists to submit their 2D artwork ( ready to hang with label on the back, including artist name, the title of the piece, the medium and price or NFS)... Our wonderful volunteers will provide the wall cards and take care of the hanging installation. Intake will be next Thursday November 7th from 10am - 12 noon This show will run until the end of February, exact date will be decided and posted soon. *****Please note to all artists in the Annual Juried Show who wish to keep their art up ( if winter wonderland related) please send a quick email to the art committee to confirm. All other artists, pick up any unsold art on November 7th between 10am - 12 noon.

The Opening Reception & Award ceremony for our "Otherworldly" Juried Show was a success... what a wonderful turn out of artists and supporters we have in our Lambton Communities. Mayor Brad Loosley welcomed everyone to Petrolia and the judges-Patti Cook & Karen Watson of Scrum Sister Studios was on hand to provide their feedback and expertise. Show is on until Nov 6th, giving you plenty of time to see this wonderfully mixed array of works.... Dont forget to vote for your favourite "Peoples Choice" Thank you very much to the increasingly talented artists, the amazing and energetic volunteers on the art committee, and the beautiful Town of Petrolia, for making all of this happen.
