Congratulations to Shauna our volunteer of the month!! We are so grateful for all the time and amazing work you put into youre volunteering at VBIS :) Why did you start volunteering at VBIS? I have always been fascinated by the brain and wanted to learn how people were affected and how they could be helped. I was reintroduced to [volunteering at VBIS] by my psychology professor Dr. Caty Mateer, who brought in several guests from VBIS to speak to our Brain Injury and Rehabil...itation class. She offered extra credit for volunteering so I figured heres my chance to start at VBIS! What is your favourite part about volunteering at VBIS? My favourite part of volunteering at VBIS is talking with clients and hearing their stories of brain injury and who they are as a person. I love helping people and brightening their days with simple things like chatting with them on a walk or helping fill a form. I truly believe that one of the best ways to heal the brain is through simple human connection.
