Greetings to All I think we mean it more than ever when we say Happy New Year, let's get some Happy, this year. We are all tired of the rut & the inability to look forward to changing. Everything seems on hold. It is so hard to set goals without knowing when the restrictions will lift. But, I am very happy with the progress the students have made during the 1st term & so far with the 2nd term. Examination details will follow as soon as they are available. I thi...nk doing the examinations this year is important to test how one functions when under stress, which is not within our control. A good insight into how to keep it together for both staff & students. I'd like to thank Penny for endless hours of work with editing cropping & centering student photos due to a lack of parent observation days. Our older students got as many as twenty personal photos & juniors about six, with Kinderdance even with a copy. Do take a look at the photos we are sharing online. We received many thanks & compliments. Such as the parents of one of our 11 yr. old students' who emailed "Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures. I am so glad our daughter is still able to come to the studio during COVID. Your programs are outstanding, the children are so blessed. With gratitude." We will keep Zooming along for the rest of the quarantine but look forward to seeing you in the class shortly, sporting your favourite mask - from glitter glam to a crazy design - your choice, challenge your wild side. London Dance Centre Teacher's Want List 1. Students who love to dance... 2. Students who care about technique 3. Students who apply corrections quickly 4. Students who are willing to try any movement 5. Students who show kindness to other classmates 6. Students who are on time for class 7. Students who are well-groomed for class 8. Students who use expression when they perform 9. Students who can laugh at themselves, but not laugh at others 10. Students who use their time in class wisely As teachers at the London Dance Centre, we are very lucky because just about all our students meet the Teacher's, Want List. We don't have to ask for good behavior, because our students are very self-disciplined, it is rare to have no disciplinary problems in a school, we hope it will always be this way

Grown like a weed? Usually, in September, we find our students have grown like weeds, but this year they have probably grown like beanstalks. Let us know how much you've grown 5cm or more? ... Send us a picture. Oh, check to see if your Dancewear fits. Book your appointment at the studio. See you soon.

The Majoor Family We regretfully announce the passing of Emily & Bram Majoor's grandmother. Until recent health reasons, Carol was very active & present in many aspects of the London Dance Centre & the London Dance Ensemble. She attended performances, fundraisers & enjoyed the achievements of her granddaughter & grandson. Carol is sadly missed by all who knew her. Sincere condolences to all the Majoor family.... To prevent infection and to slow transmission of COVID-19, do the following: Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, or clean them with alcohol-based hand rub. Maintain at least 1-meter distance between you and people coughing or sneezing.... Avoid touching your face. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. Stay home if you feel unwell. Practice physical distancing by avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people.

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Fred Pardy on Friday, July 3rd, 2020. Father to Ms. Jessica Pardy, Mrs. Rachel Guest, both teachers at the studio. Mr. Pardy's five daughters & one grand-daughter have studied at the dance school. Three have gone on to take teaching certificates & have all taught at the London Dance Centre. Fred was very supportive of his daughters & often attended parent days & recitals to encourage their progress. Mrs. Sharon Pardy,... many of you know as the lady backstage in charge of "quick changes". Our quick-change wizard has been helping at our shows & productions of the London Dance Ensemble for over 30 years. The studio extends it's condolences to the family at this time & warmest wishes for the celebration of the life of Fred Pardy. All our love & support Victoria Carter London Dance Centre

Three weeks from opening & we couldn't be happier about seeing the children & students back at the studio. Extensive steps are being made @ 160 to have all systems go for September. We are steam cleaning & sanitizing our building from top to bottom - re-figuring some of our rooms from their previous functions & placing direction indicators & signage everywhere.... This week families will receive their COVID-19 Dance Safe Procedures & Protocols, so everyone will be familiar with the procedures before classes resume. The building remains closed until September 6th. Registrations forms can be sent by mail or popped in the mailbox at the school. We are available by phone at 519-434-0612 or email, [email protected]. If an in-person interview is needed, please phone us & one can be arranged. See you soon. VCLDC - Victoria Carter London Dance Centre

Dear Graduate, It is with great sadness we say goodbye to you as you graduate grade 12 this year. We always try to make your farewell performance a lasting memory, of the hours & years spent here at the school. Unlike most teachers, we do not instruct you for just one year but have the opportunity to instruct you for many years, seeing you mature & progress. We remain as interested in your life & development, as you leave, as we were while you were here at "160". Since yo...u have missed out this year we are offering some options going forward. 1. To attend our next recital, as our guest, & come on stage to receive your post-graduation recognition. 2. Video zoom the choreography for one of your dances you missed out on this year (this means staying in reasonable shape) to appear in this years recital 3. We try each year to offer a grad class for any graduates that want to keep dancing a bit, despite their busy lives. Near our recital time, you could transfer to a class to participate in a dance you missed out on this year. This may work for those who have to do 1st semester online at home. Our big problem is not knowing how the pandemic will develop or dissipate. We cannot give a recital date or venue at this time, & that of course will influence participation. Just know that your graduation from the dance school will be acknowledged. Even if it's, me stood on your lawn waving your roses in the air. We are all very proud of your discipline & commitment to have done well at school & remained in a demanding dance program, all these years. Congratulations, Maria Awaraji, Kacie Bains, Sarah Boros, Samantha Hodge, Aurora Hannay, Claire Pooler, Lily Spoozak, Anna Yang Love Victoria
