DYK your neighbours are often your first responders in an emergency? One of our favourite ways to engage with neighbours is to talk about how you could help each other in an emergency. What skills could you share or how might you need extra assistance? The first step is meeting your neighbours! We're looking forward to this next virtual linked below about Engaging Your Neighbours on Wednesday, January 20th at 12pm. See you there!

This movie has been on our 'to watch' list for a while! Join us for the free virtual showing of "The Great Disconnect" on Wednesday, December 9th at 12pm. Learn about the health and social impacts of loneliness and why neighbourhood connections are so important. (Don't forget, connected communities are also more resilient and recover more quickly from disasters!) The film will be followed by a Q&A with the director, Tamer Soliman and retired UVic professor Dr. Trevor Hancock, who is featured in the film. Hope to see you there!
