With the world weathering COVID-19 and the situation we are all in together, managing our minds in these uncertain times can be very difficult, stressful and draining. I wanted to just write a quick note to acknowledge the stress that many of us are experiencing and remind you to continue to find the good in change. Be compassionate, be strong, be kind to yourself, and to be helpful. I find myself reminiscing a lot, trying to understand my life choices, the challenges I've o...vercome, understanding the past and most of all my connection with people I've worked with, my friends and family. I look at these photos and not only see the final product but also remember what it took to get here. It takes a team of amazing people, friends, family to create pieces like this not only with construction of the garments but also by motivation, collaboration, and believing in me when I didn't believe in myself. To those who have helped me along the way, those who encouraged me, those who are kind, inspiring and show resilience, THANK YOU . VAF isn’t a one person brand it’s a brand created by a team of people who come together, help each other, inspire each other, a brand with years of wonderful experiences with so many creative, beautiful people. I would like to especially thank those who helped me with this collection and my business over all. Thank you to Lori Tagoona for helping me design this NY collection inspired by our grandmothers who are known for their intricate beadwork, inspired by elements of Inuit designs and the colours of the winter in the Arctic. I feel so blessed to have been able to work alongside a life long friend who inspires me everyday by being a wonderful mother, a creative artist, and friend. Thank you to Hinaani, Nooks Lindell for designing and creating these amazing accessories. You are so talented and so humble, I love all your creations and look forward to seeing what you and Hinaani create in the future. Thank you to Brenda Speirs Fryatt and Lisa Dyck for helping with the pattern making and construction of the garments. I've learned so much from you both and look forward to continue learning and working with you in the future.
