For a client in the Netherlands I translated a document on various tapes of adhesive film. I had to research the topic and used Google Search to do so. Three days later ads for adhesive products start appearing in my Facebook feed. How can Facebook know what I searched with Google?

Translating a manual for an industrial robot, written by a Japanese technician, pre-translated by a technician in Belgium: certain sections are more like solving a puzzle than translating. What could they have meant by: "Do not thread a chain or the like through transport equipments"? And why did the colleague in Belgium translate "footstep" into "footstool" and what actually is meant by it? So glad there is an internet to look things up on.

Just finished the translation of a manual for a large heat transfer system for bulk goods from English into German. Interesting translation jobs with sufficient time for research are the best.
