CBC News CBC Nova Scotia CBC News: The National published over 50 articles between August 2019 and now referencing vaping related lung injuries. The CDC has n...ow officially closed their investigation and determined nicotine vaping products were responsible for 0 of the total lung injuries reported. The vaping industry has demanded a public retraction from CBC and the CRTC - Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and have gotten no response from either organization. According to an Angus Reid poll, the number of Canadians who believe vaping does more harm than good has nearly doubled, from 35 per cent in a 2018 poll to 62 per cent in December 2019. CBC is CLEARLY responsible for this drastic spike in egregiously false beliefs surrounding vaping. If a media outlet can publish over 50 articles that are then determined to be outright false, and are not required to publicly retract these articles and clarify their mistake, then what type of accuracy can we truly expect from media? And why do we have the CRTC if they aren’t willing to enforce their own broadcasting standards against a publicly funded organization like CBC? Canadian Heritage
