On Sunday we lit the candle for LOVE. A celebration of the Love that has been showered upon us. Oh how God must have loved the world to give us the gift of his son. Oh how Jesus must have loved us to ask for our forgiveness even as we crucified him. Our VE wish is for you to remember the importance of Love. The love from God, and the love we have to give. As the pandemic continues to loom over us, let us love one another, love our Lord and remember to love ourselves in all our imperfections. 1 John 4:10,11 "In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another".
Sitting with Jesus. This year has been: at best - unusual, at worst - sorrow filled. Many things have made our lives difficult. (isolation, shortages, lockdowns, inability to visit loved ones, extra responsibilities at home, unable to celebrate special events, loss of job, family deaths, etc...) So what can you do to clear your mind of these stresses so you can focus on Christmas and the special message that it brings? Take time to sit with Jesus. Pass on the troubles in your mind to him. With social distancing rules, there's probably always an empty chair next to you. Invite the Lord to fill it.
A sweet christmas story reinforcing our belief that God intervenes in amazing ways and that EVERYONE has something to offer if they are given the chance.
Put Christ back into Christmas. Its not just about the trees and the gifts. Joyfully decorated trees appeared in Nov to brighten people's lives and lighten their mood from this crazy year - but, on Dec 25th, its about a baby in a manager, God's precious gift to save the world. "For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11 [Thanks Kyle Chatzis-Fox for the clay session on Monday on creating baby Jesus in the manager.]
JOY - A youth church message today to share with you. BE THE JOY! How can you bring joy to others? What small things can you do? During this time of isolation and restrictions we all need to focus on the small things that can bring us all joy. J - oy O - offered Y - by you Phone someone, Send someone a card or note, remember to show gratitude to those serving you (in stores, in drive thrus, online).
Sharing with permission. This is a series of messages created by a gal with autism using her elf who she says also has autism. Many of these tableaus are so spot on. She is currently working on ones related to advent and Christmas in 2020 and all the additional challenges this season holds.
