This year’s angel tree will look a little different but that’s only to be expected during 2020. I believe this has been a hard year for all of us and I also believe this is a year our community needs to pull together even more to help the ones who are struggling the most. There are 179 children ranging in age from newborn to 18years who are signed up through the Centre Wellington food bank for the Angel tree program. What is the angel tree program? Well it’s an amazing comm...unity program that supports families and helps provide their children with a memorable Christmas. Our community comes together and takes the financial strain off families that are having a hard time especially during the holiday season. Now 2020 has made this year a year of adjustment and forcing us all to adapt. Our angel tree has not been excluded and is also having to evolve. We usually ask for unwrapped gifts for the families to be able to pick out the perfect gifts for their children but this year we are asking for gift cards only for the families. This also gives the opportunity to shop local and to help your local businesses who have been tested by covid restrictions.
