We’ve had a lot of potters work at the shop over our 47 years in business. Some join our team not even knowing they’ll discover clay and turn into a potter! Olivia McDonald is one of those people. She started at VP in the summer of 2015 as a photography student with a love for all things handmade and quickly became our primary sales and marketing employee. She returned to @nbccdlive for the school year and then @nscaduniversity where she made the switch to studying ceramics ...after dabbling in throwing at our studio. She furthered her pottery skills to the point that after completing her program, she decided to move back to PEI and work full-time as a potter with us! Over the last few years, Olivia helped with the creation of our sister shop @pottersparlour, shot most of our product photography, managed the shop during the summer season and made a whole lot of beautiful pots including our popular Lupin and belly mugs As many new potters do, she explored different techniques and styles and started to make her own unique line as @thebitterblonde. The demand for her own creations has grown significantly over the last year to the point that she’s taking the big step to focus on her own business (but will still make some pots for VP so don’t worry, the lupin mugs will still be available!) We’ll miss having Liv at the shop but are so proud of how far she’s come and wish her nothing but the best in her new endeavors!

We’re starting to work towards our 2021 season and are excited to announce we’ll have more of these blue toned mugs by Ginette Arsenault and @aliciakatepotteryco at our shop in New London this summer! Who’s dreaming of a sunny drive along the north shore?

We’re slowly but surely building up stock for our 1st shop update of 2021. We don’t have a date/time set in stone yet but can tell you these one of a kind blush pink lace mugs by Ian & Jack Scott will be included!

It all starts with a ball of clay We love this time of year. The snow falls gently outside our cozy studios as we start on production for our next season. A lot of pots will be made by over a dozen potters in the next few months before our shop in New London opens back up for the summer season. You don’t have to wait that long to get your pottery fix though. We plan on adding some items to our online shop over the winter and are starting right back on the Jilly Mug waitlist this week! Hope your new year is off to a good start.

Wrapping up another great week All of the orders from our shop update are now packed up and ready for the next step: weighing, measuring and purchasing a shipping label. Then @canadapostagram will come and pick them up to head off island to their forever home. If you ordered you’ll get an email with the tracking number. Thanks so much for the support! Next week we’ll be finishing the next batch of Jilly mugs and then after that we’ll plan for another shop update. Stay tuned!

Restock alert We just dropped off a bunch of these Blush pink lace mugs, Funky mugs in a mix of glazes, Belly shaped Purple Haze mugs (likely last ones we’ll have this year!) and some highly coveted blush pink + black stemless cups to @greeneyedesigns on Victoria Row This sweet shop full of locally made products is open 12-5pm Weds to Sunday and apparently they’re already flying off the shelves so get in there soon before they’re gone!

Your order isn’t confirmed until you receive a confirmation email. Your items could sell out while in the process of checking out (sorry if this happens to you!) * Free Local Pick-up: enter your PEI address at checkout for this option. Important Update! Shopping on PEI: Mug restock at @peicraftscouncil These blush pink & black, turquoise & white and blush pink & white (smaller version of Jilly mug!) made by @aliciakatepotteryco and glazed by @the_potters_daughter will be available at the PEI Crafts Council shop at 98 Water Street in Charlottetown at 10am tomorrow. In-store purchase, no holds or pre orders. There is no limit to how many pink mugs you can buy there! Please follow their covid-19 safety precautions with a limit of 3 people in the shop at a time, wear a mask and sanitize. Online shop update: we’ll be adding more mugs and cups to our online shop tomorrow Dec 8th at 7pm AST. We’ll show you what will be included in our last online restock before Christmas very soon! The last Mugshot Monday of the year goes to the one item we made most in 2020 (by a landslide!) We had no idea how popular the Blush Pink glaze would become when we created it at the end of 2019 and are so happy so many of you love it! Hands up if you got a Blush Pink Mug this year and joined the #JillyMugClub and don’t worry, we won’t stop making them anytime soon!

We’re excited to announce the next generation Potter’s Daughter will be joining the Village Pottery team this spring!

Here’s the plan for the next few weeks: * Online Shop: we’ll do 1 more restock to our online shop within the next week and it’ll be our biggest one yet! Date/time to be announced soon. Will also post what will be included in it. It’ll be the last one before Christmas and will hopefully mean orders will arrive in time for the big day but Canada Post is not guaranteeing any delivery dates this year because they’re overloaded. We’ll try our best to get your orders packed up... and shipped out as quick as we can and then the rest will be up to them if you’re on PEI you can also order from our online shop + select local pickup free of charge! * PEI Crafts Council Restock: If you’re on PEI, we’ll continue to bring more mugs and stemless cups periodically to @peicraftscouncil shop at 98 Water st in Charlottetown. We’ll try to post when new items are hitting the shelves there! They’re open 7 days a week right now. Jilly Mug Waitlist: we will continue to make them when we can and contact as many people on the waitlist as possible until we break for the holidays Dec 18th. If we can’t get to all 400ish people before then, we will definitely finish the waitlist in January (and will email anyone remaining on the list so they’re aware). Once we’re done of the waitlist we’ll post an update on what will happen with the Jilly mugs in 2021! Hey friends! Hope you’re doing well. We’re easing back into the studio after a nice end of season break. We just restocked Green Eye Designs with these Purple Haze, Blush Pink belly mugs and a mix of starfish/maple leaf mugs. Drop into their shop on Victoria Row to snag ‘em! Next we’ll be working on opening our online shop (stay tuned for more info on that) and we are still making lots of Jilly Mugs every week (if you’re on the waitlist you’ll get an email with a link to order when your turn comes). That’s a wrap on our 47th season A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, waited in line and supported our little pottery shop this summer. It was a different season but busier than expected and we want to thank our staff who went above and beyond to make sure everyone stayed safe. Also want to thank the dozens of artists who make all the wonderful things for the shop and gallery. It wouldn’t be possible without you! We’re on vacation for the next while then will get b...ack in the studio first of October to get working on the Jilly mug waitlist, restocking items for our online shop which will open sometime next month and get started on building stock for our 2021 season (yep we start working this far in advance!) Stay tuned for updates on when our online shop will open and keep an eye on your email in the coming weeks and months if you’re on the waitlist! Wow, what a busy start to the day! We had a full parking lot and lineup since 8am You guys are amazing. Thank you all so much for the support! All of the new mugs that we posted yesterday are now sold but we will continue putting out some new ones over the next few days. It’s a rather grey day out there but nice and cozy inside here! Our sunny yellow collection always brightens up the room and we have all these pieces in stock at the shop today and we’re open now until 5pm!
