Vincent Design, in collaboration with Indspire, will be granting scholarships to Indigenous youth who are pursuing studies in graphic design and related programs for the fall 2021 semester. Every student's story is different, but the financial gap for many under-served Indigenous youth is still apparent. By providing sufficient scholarship assistance, we can enable greater success in education, providing backing for deserving students who want to graduate and give back to the...ir communities. To that end, we're seeking funds to support this project; your support will make a significant difference in these student's lives. To facilitate this initiative, Indspire will act as the administrator for the collection of donated funds and candidate applications as well as distribute the scholarship funds. Shaun Vincent, Founder and Creative Director at Vincent Design, will be responsible for the adjudication of candidate applications. He will also participate in a mentorship journey with the successful candidates through their academic career, continuous to a post-graduation placement or practicum. Vincent Design has been serving the Indigenous community with our expertise for nearly 15 years, giving heightened exposure to our clients and providing them with expanded opportunities for engagement with their stakeholders. Recently we've reached a stage in our growth where we now have the capacity to focus directly on our outreach goals in a way that has potential for the most meaningful impact. We’re honoured by the opportunity to collaborate with members of our personal and professional networks on such an important project. Our Year One goal for the scholarship is to raise $5,000 by March 1, 2021 to ensure funds are in place for the 2021 fall semester start. Indspire will match all donations dollar for dollar making the total scholarship funds $10,000 for each academic year. Please mail your donations with a memo indicating the VIncent Design scholarship fund to: Indspire, Attn: Wendy Quick 1002 - 555 Richmond St. W. Toronto, ON M5V 3B1 Or donate online at https://indspire.ca/vincent-design/ Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you feel may be interested

The Canadian Reconciliation Barometer (University of Manitoba) initiative proposes to measure the outcomes of reconciliation efforts and requires a symbol recognizing the challenges surrounding reconciliation, the hopes for continued growth and discovery, and the philosophy that through learning we may all pass these teachings on from generation to generation. Using the concept of a seed and its eventual growth, we drew comparisons to the passing of knowledge through teachings for generations to come, building on the idea of monitoring the growth and success of a seed to measure the impact of our efforts on progress. The elements used in the logo support the overall idea of growth and knowledge and the earthy yet energetic colours visually symbolize progress and renewal.

Loving the new Manitoba Film & Music logo in print! Manitoba Film & Music (MFM) wanted an updated, more consistent branding approach across their full suite of marketing tools to boost recognition within the film, television, video and music-recording industries. The new logo is shown here on their 2019/2020 Annual Report we completed earlier this year.

NEW BLOG POST: INDIGENOUS DESIGN AND WHY IT’S DIFFERENT https://vincentdesign.ca//indigenous-design-and-why-its-d/ This post covers a lot of the points that were covered in Shaun’s Blue Sky Series Discussion. ... I do believe that the process is deeper than that of a non-Indigenous project. It is richer, with connections that come from within yourself, from within your being. It becomes personal at times, where one’s own interpretation, of a Bear for instance, makes a difference, and we have to reconcile with whose interpretation ends up being right. ~ Shaun Vincent
