We imagine that in quieter times celebrations took place around the kitchen table with a cake just like this one. Made with love and care. With time to pay attention to the details. Handpicked decorations from the garden. A time when we had the space to be ... to do ... to be still ... savouring the moments. So, when a special friend ... the brains behind My Great Companion @mygreathousehousekeeper ... has a special birthday, it is only fitting to bring the birthday celebrati...on into the heart of the home with a cake made with the same level as care as she runs her businesses. Vintage Cabins is a special place where celebrations take place and memories are created. In 2021, we will be celebrating the 100th birthday of a special guest and a 65th as well. If only Shawnigan could talk? The memories created here. The stories it would tell.

Walter, a recent guest, wanted to share his experience at Vintage Cabins. He has traveled the world and appreciated the layout of the Tailor's Cabin, the stillness of the lake and the deck. Here he enjoyed reconnecting with his children and his grandchildren comfortably over a family BBQ. At 90 years of age he had many stories to share. He told me that he enjoyed his 80th birthday the most because he didn't think he'd get there and here he is looking forward to his 91st. Seeing the world through the eyes of children brings us to a place of simplicity. This picture of Mt. Baldy was drawn by a 9-year Vintage Cabin guest this past summer. Of all the cabins and homes she could see, she choose only three capturing the construction of a new home shown in yellow & white, another that is perched midpoint to the north drawn with a red roof and one higher up close to the Mt. Baldy park. We are inspired by her use of colour, and of the shapes and lines ...that form the mountaintop. We're looking forward to scanning this picture to create notecards. The Tailor's Cabin logo is a needle and thread celebrating the legacy of the Tailor that built the cabin in 1912. A thread also delicately forms the bird used in the Birdhouse logo. We can't wait to see what they design for the "creative" cabin planned for 2021. . .
