A very valued client made a new request!! shaping wood and carving is not my strong point but I think he turned out well! Another super done!

This lovely blade had a bit of a nasty crack near the double shoulder. I reshaped the tang and removed the shoulders. I made a set of cocobolo scales for her and pinned it with some fluted washers.

As a man of the blade I tend to have a very passionate view of barbers and their art. There is something special that happens when you cross that threshold and leave the world behind entering into a time from the past. There was a time when being a man meant more about ones word and how he carried himself than the size of his wallet and T.V. A time when taking an hour to care for yourself was not only accepted but was expected. In the world of Supercuts and the $5 trim we lo...st that connection with masculinity. We stopped giving ourselves the pampering and pleasure we deserve. We replaced tradition and community in a barbershop with cans of goo and uncomfortable shaves at home and cheap cuts in a salon. Fear not as a movement has begun! All over the world men are returning to those days gone by. They are leaving the salon's and putting the disposable aside. Leading the charge are the men and women that man the chairs. The all mighty barber. Not only do they provide a cut and a shave they also provide community. A place for the gentleman to take off his coat and share himself with those around him. To sit in a familiar chair and hear a familiar voice, knowing when he leaves he will feel like a new man. The hunt for the right barber is an important one. Finding the right set of hands mated with the right personality. Knowing that you can walk in and sit down and get the same cut and shave each and every time. Just as important is that emotional connection with your barber. An intimacy that can only come from years of sharing your secrets knowing it will go no farther than the chair. The blind faith and trust in his/her steady hand as they shave away the week with a finely honed straight edge. I found my Barber, Doug, at Victory Barber & Brand. i know that every time I sit in his chair I will walk away looking and feeling my very best. I am proud to be a member of the community at Victory. there is a sense of honor and pride when I open that door and am greeted each and every time with a hearty "Hey it's Razor Rob!". I was very moved after watching a story on Matty, The owner of Victory Barber, and him giving to his local community. Thank you Matty and all at Victory Barber for providing a refuge from todays hi-tech low-grade world. Thank you for not only giving us a place to call home but for providing others with the gift and joy of a great cut by two great people. Our city needs more fine folk like you. *bow* https://www.youtube.com/watch
