Doug and I would like to thank you for your loyalty over the past 11 years. It has been our privilege and honour to be a small part of your lives. Thank you for the memories which we will always cherish. We will miss you all. Thank you to our staff both past and present...for the great food, desserts and serve they provided. Now we would like to leave you a little gift from us to you. Here is the recipe for our English Toffee Pudding and Caramel Sauce. 1 1/3 cups boiling wate...r 1 1/3 cups seeded dates coarsely chopped 1 tsp baking soda Pour boiling water over dates and baking soda. Stirr and let sit for 10 minutes. Then add to date mixture 1/3 cup hard margarine or butter 3/4 cup brown sugar packed 2 large eggs 1 cup flour 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp cinnamon Mix well and pour into greased or parchment lined springform pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 to 55 minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out clean. Leave in pan until cool then cut into 8 pieces or as many as you like. Caramel Sauce Combine in a sauce pan 1/2 cup whipping cream 1/4 cup hard margarine or butter 1/2 cup brown sugar packed Heat and stir on medium until well blended. Bring to boil. Gently boil without stirring for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk well. As it boils as it may start spitting at you if it boils to rapidly so be careful. ENJOY
