We miss being with you Sundays at noon. Thank you to everyone who listened to the show this summer. It made me happy to think of everyone listening, across the country. The Vinyl Cafe started as a summer replacement show back in 1994, and now over 25 years later we were able to do it again. Thanks for all your kind words too. Thank you for listening this summer. When we started thinking about airing the show again this summer I wasn’t sure if anyone would listen. I wasn’t sure if you’d tune it at a specific time, when you could listen on CDs or digitally or read the stories in books. Butit felt different to me to listen on the radio. It felt special. Once again, I’ve learned from you. So many of you wrote in to tell us that it felt good to think about people listening on the radio, across the country at the same time. Everyone apart, but having a shared experienced. That felt especially important this year. So, thank you. Thanks for listening. Thanks for caring. Thanks for your kind comments, your support, your love. Xoxox
This week on the Vinyl Cafe, Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Cafe crew are island-bound once again. This time to Lake Huron’s captivating Manitoulin Island, which seems to have a time zone all of its own: Manitoulin time. It’s been a tough year and a strange summer. And for those of us lucky enough to have them, our pets are one of the things that have helped keep us sane through these difficult and sometimes lonely times. This week on the show, Stuart tells a story about Dave, ...Morley and the kids, and their beloved pet, Arthur. Arthur the dog, who stole socks, potatoes, too much space in the bed, and more than anything else stole the hearts of his family. And left them the richer for it. . . . #stuartmclean #cbcradio #daveandmorley #manitoulinisland See more
I always listen to the shows before they air, just to double check everything. This is what happened when I listened to this week’s show. Big feelings. xo
