Mme Lalonde and Mrs. McQuinn’s class has been focusing on Kindness for the month of February. They created a kindness quilt together with a promise to be kind every day.
Mme Simard’s class was busy yesterday building a snowman. Great job Cougars!!

Morning Routine: Wake up Drink the Coffee Complete the Covid-19 screening for your children and yourself before going to school.... Every morning, all families and staff are asked to conduct a COVID-19 screening to determine if your child should attend school that day. Take the screening test: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/

Thank you to Mr.Gilmour who organizes our Annual Terry Fox Run every year. This is his 16th year organizing the run. Thank you from all of the staff and students at Viscount. Your hard work does not go unnoticed!
This years Terry Fox Run looked a little different however everyone had fun. Thank you to everyone who donated, participated and helped out.
Our community health partners, The Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, have indicated this evening that parents should use the provincial screening tool that was updated today. If your child passes the screening they can attend school, even if they are waiting for test results. http://ow.ly/sRTI50BHhWc
The number of #UCDSB staff away with COVID-19 symptoms, self-isolating or awaiting test results is increasing. Approx. 500 subs are needed most days. If we can't secure adequate staff, schools will be forced to cancel classes or close temporarily. Read on: https://bit.ly/3l1pc7f
We were just notified that Roxborough Bus 8342 (green) will be running approximately 30 minutes late tonight to pick the students up from school. The bus will leave the school around 4pm. If you would rather pick up your student then have them wait for the bus, please call the school before 2:30pm to advise. Ms. Van de Glind is trying to reach out to all parents/guardians of students on that bus. Sorry for any inconvenience.
In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Terry's Marathon of Hope, our school is participating in the Terry Fox School Run on Friday, October 2. It will look a little different this year with classes going out at various times in the afternoon to avoid too many students outside at once. We are proudly committed to raising much-needed funds for cancer research. Our goal last year was to try and raise one thousand dollars. Students tried to find 5 people to donate $2.00 each... and the result was a fundraising total of $2290.01! It would be nice if they could attempt the same this time around but even if each student donated a "Twoonie for Terry" we'd reach almost $1000.00 for cancer research! Any amount would be helpful though, so if you're able, please consider giving to this important cause! ! We are unable to accept cash at the school this year so we are asking anyone who would like to donate to please click on the link below. Thanks and stay safe! http://www.terryfox.ca/ViscountAlexanderPSCornwall
Bus 8344 (First Student) and Bus 7155 (Roxborough) have been delayed. Please check the steo website at www.steo.ca for bus delays and further updates.
