It's no secret that 2020 was a challenging year but, as Beth Elhard reminds us, it wasn't all bad... The challenge brought out the good in many: neighbours helping neighbours, groceries brought to doors by caring friends. A slower pace and a sense of community that's all too easily forgotten in our busy lives. Read Beth's reflections on a memorable year and the hopefulness it sparked for 2021:... https://www.whatsyourshare.ca/a-new-year See more

Hi friends, welcome to a new year We took a cue from our Little Sprouts and entered 2021 with a few hopes: That this year will bring our communities even closer together.... That we’ll take the difficult lessons we learned from 2020 and put them to good use. That we’ll all become a little more locally minded. And that we’ll continue to reach out to our friends, families, neighbours and even strangers to lend a helping hand. What are some of your resolutions or hopes for this new year? Let us know in the comments!

We’ve been busy elves at our City Centre branch! We raised $274 and a sleigh full of toys for the Kinette Club of Camrose’s Silent Santa Toy Drive. We even had a special guest stop by the eve of the Camrose Christmas Association’s Drive-By Parade to snap some photos with our friends. One of the first people to bring in a donation, Monica Erker, was the lucky winner of a $100 gift certificate to local downtown City of Camrose, Alberta businesses. Congratulations, Monica!

"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." - Coretta Scott King Happy Friday, friends! This weekend, think local. If you're Christmas shopping, support small local businesses. Call your neighbour to check in. Make a donation to your local food bank. Be kind. Remember, small gestures can make a big difference.

When you live in a close-knit community, an unassuming spot like a local restaurant can become a lasting part of your town’s history and folklore. If you’re from the Town of Castor, that place is Andy’s.... We asked Beth Elhard about the glory days of Andy’s and the man behind the magic.
