The island is laden with place names and areas of cultural significance that remind us, as Swxwú7mesh, who we are and how the island provided for our people since the beginning of creation. -- Chris Lewis, Squamish Nation
Last year, filmmaker Greg Gransden was a regular researcher at the Archives. His new documentary following the re-enactment of a 1926 climb up what was then called Mystery Mountain is now available on Amazon Prime Video. You can watch the trailer below. No doubt, this will be one to look out for at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF).

Despite coming from different backgrounds, these pioneering workers developed a real sense of camaraderie as they worked together to support the war effort and their families. This image is one of our new Zoom backgrounds. Let these ladies have your back during your next Zoom meeting: https://monova.ca/exploring-history-with-monovas-new-zoom-/ : NVMA 15315 #NorthVanStories
Personal recollections tell us stories that bring the past to life. Visit our latest online exhibit and listen to audio clips with former students and staff at the fourth Lynn Valley School. Of course, memories of school would not be complete without stories of lunch and recess... https://monova.ca/landmark-celebration/
Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day that commemorates the end of the Holocaust, the genocide of European Jews by Nazi Germany between 1941 and 1945. January 27 was chosen to commemorate the date that Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated by the Red Army in 1945. Join us today as we remember the millions of Jewish victims who were murdered in the Holocaust 75 years ago as well as the millions of other victims of Nazi oppression. #WeRemember
