We encourage those who submitted interest to sponsor forms in the fal...l of 2020 to check their email accounts regularly throughout the week. Those who receive invitations to apply must submit their complete applications within 60 days. The deadline to apply will be clearly marked on the invitation. As of November 30, Service Canada will reopen their Appointment System for scheduling biometrics appointments online: Services are by appointment only through... the System, there are no walk-in appointments available at Service Canada locations. Clients who have not been contacted by a Service Canada officer should use the tool to schedule their own appointment at the Service Canada location closest to them, as stated in the Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL). Permanent residents who have not enrolled their biometrics within the past ten years are required to make a biometrics appointment to complete their application. International students: we’re announcing new measures to help you start a new program online from outside Canada. You can now include the time you apply for a s...tudy permit, rather than when you were approved for one, towards a future post-graduation work permit. Students must eventually be approved for a study permit and complete more than 50% of their program in CA. We’re also providing priority processing for students who have submitted a complete study permit application. In addition, we’re approving study permit applicants in 2 stages: eligibility and admissibility. If you pass the eligibility stage (showing that you have been accepted at a CA learning institution, have the available funds, etc.) you will be notified of a 1st stage approval. Students receive final approval once they meet all admissibility requirements, including submitting necessary documents such as biometrics, an immigration medical exam and a police certificate.
