We are still operating as normal in Halton Region but our industry is hurting!!! Many clinics aren't able to reopen again! Skin Care Clinics in GTA have united to raise awareness for the Government of Ontario to reconsider its position regarding "prohibiting personal care services where face coverings must be removed for the service" (specifically professional skin care treatments) and allow the skin care industry to continue these services during Modified Stage 2. .... There has been NO public acknowledgment of any Covid-19 outbreaks relating to Medical Spa Clinics in Ontario. We ask why would our industry be categorised with other industries that have had outbreaks such as Strip Clubs, Restaurant/Bars and Gyms/Fitness Studios, when there is no data to justify these restrictions? . We are an industry that has been trained to protect our clients, patients and staff from viruses, and other diseases even before Covid-19. These protocols, procedures and policies have only been heightened during the pandemic adhering the most recent Public Health measures and recommendations. . We are kindly asking @fordnationdougford, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, and local Public Health Units to reconsider Personal Care Services: specifically ‘Skin Care’ from being restricted during Stage 2 Rollback. Although we deeply appreciate the Government's efforts in flattening the curve, we do feel that our industry has been disproportionately targeted without evidence as to ‘our impact’ on the spread of Covid-19. We believe we have the ability to service safely and effectively within the restrictions and recommendations. We request to be looked at individually as opposed to being grouped with all ‘personal care services’ as a whole. .
