Since being back from break, Ms. Graboski’s 1/2 class has been busy with our hands! Mme Goulet challenged them to put NWO on the map by designing a new, free standing tower that could be seen miles away. What they used to build the tower was up to them! They were able to design, build, then reflect on our towers and how they could make them taller next time. Then to finish their unit on Matter, and to show their understanding of liquids and solids, Ms. Graboski challenged the... students to build a boat, that could float in a sink (or a bathtub in some cases) full of water. After the initial float test, they decided to extend our activity by seeing how many coins the boats could hold before sinking. The students were able to design their boats, gather materials, build, then reflect on what worked and what didn't in terms of floating. Peter's boat was able to hold over 300 coins! See more
Last Friday, scores of our students and staff had an opportunity to take in a musical performance by the remarkable JordinLaine. We wanted to share with you the concert by this amazing alumni from Saint Joseph’s School!
