If you look for a job in Canada as a newcomer, you may be curious about how the recruitment process works and how to get hired. We are guessing that you may have many questions. What am I supposed to do to get an interview? Why didn`t they call me? Why do I need Canadian experience? You can find many of your answers in this session. Please follow this links for the video. https://youtu.be/XiiJJZnEabw In this session, we hosted Grace Norris, who is a senior Executive Search ...Consultant and partner at Retained Search & Talent Management. She talked about how to look for work in Canada and employment challenges for immigrants. She helped us understand how things go on the other side of the table. She gave us some tips as a strategic recruiter who has been doing this for more than 20 years. She has tremendous experience with different industries such as manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods to name a few. And she recruits for Canadian, American, Asian, and Latin American for the global organizations. We thank her so much for her effort, knowledge, insight, and valuable contributions. Sukran, who is one of our volunteers in VIWO, moderated the session for us. We thank her so much for her successful moderation. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A. Doudna for the development of a method for genome editing. Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A. Doudna have discovered one of gene technology’s sharpest tools: the CRISPR/Cas9 genetic scissors. Using these, researchers can change the DNA of animals, plants and microorganisms with extremely high precision. This technology has had a revolutionary impact on the life sciences, is contributing to new cancer therapies and may make the dream of curing inherited diseases come true.
