THIS JUST IN... The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) has launched at Volunteer Dental Outreach for Haliburton County. Thanks to funding from the HKPR, we can provide routine dental care for seniors who live full-time in Haliburton County. To be eligible for the program, you must: be 65 years of age or older meet annual income thresholds ($19,300 or less for a single senior or a combined income of $32,300 or less for a couple) have no access to other forms ...of dental benefits. To apply for coverage through the OSDCP, please visit http://www.ontario.ca/seniorsdental, or call 416-916-0204 or toll-free 1-833-207-4435. Applicants who are successful will receive a dental card for a full benefit year (August 1 to July 31).

BINGO! Thanks to Canoe FM for making Volunteer Dental Outreach for Haliburton County your charity of choice for Radio Bingo proceeds. The radio stations board recently presented a $12,500 cheque to VDO board members. This represents half the total that was raised in recent months. The station will utilize the rest. Donations like this make it possible for our volunteer dentists and team to continue to provide free urgent dental care to those who need it most.

DONATION NEWS! 100 Women Who Care Haliburton County recently presented a cheque for $5,900 to Volunteer Dental Outreach for Haliburton County! The group of ladies get together for one hour, three times per year at the Dominion Hotel and Pub in Minden and raise money for local charities. This was the second time theyve supported our charity! ALL SMILES FOR SMILE COOKIES: Nancy Bishop, owner of Minden and Haliburton Tim Hortons locations, and manager Debbie Rouble recently presented a cheque for $4324, proceeds from the 2018 Smile Cookie Campaign, to VDO board members Mark Arike, Bill Kerr, Lisa Kerr, Melanie Aldom and Betty Mills. Also present were clinic manager Alana Bannister and University of Toronto dental students Emily Hazel and Marshell Kurniawan. Through this campaign, Tim Hortons has donated a total of $21,684.00 over the past five years and helped VDO keep Haliburton County residents smiling. Thanks to everyone who stocked up on cookies!

SMILE MILESTONE! With the help of University of Toronto fourth year dental students Hwabin Lee and Jamie Ko, we surpassed $2.5 million worth of free dentistry for low-income residents of Haliburton County on Nov. 15. Thanks to all our volunteers and supporters for making this possible!
