We currently offer tele-support groups for care partners who are caring for someone living with dementia. Learn, laugh and help others through mutual understanding. Northern Interior of B.C. Stroke Recovery are looking for volunteers. VOLUNTEER POSITION: COMMUNICATION GROUP FACILITATOR for people with aphasia Do you have a background in Speech-Language Pathology, Linguistics, teaching, or supporting people with communication challenges - or a desire to get (back) into that field? Are you looking for an opportunity to stay involved with the field, and/or to practice your skills?... The Prince George Stroke Recovery Program will be starting a Supported Conversation Group for people with aphasia, that runs virtually every Thursday, 12.00 1.00 pm. We are looking for a skilled volunteer who can commit for at least 6 months - 1 year to support this program. We will equip you with many training resources, including training and support from our experienced Coordinator. Your role initially is to key word, as a support for the participants, and later to (co-) facilitate a conversation group for people with aphasia. This volunteer position offers you great and high-quality training and coaching on the job, experience, and connections!
