Try the fantasy genre again! This is a really varied and complex genre. You can find full on whimsy, in fantasy books about anthropomorphized animals with their own kingdoms, and worlds that straddle the border with science fiction and thriller genres. If it was difficult for you to suspend your disbelief last time you tried the fantasy genre your librarian has a few books to recommend that are similar to our world and lighter on the magic, complex, bizarre side of this imag...inative genre. Books mentioned in the video: --Tuesdays at the Castle-- by Jessica Day George A juvenile level book with more magic than the other recommendations. It makes up for the whimzicle imagination with heart felt lessons about family and courage. --Tale of Gwyn-- by Cythia Voigt A gritty more realistic Y.A. fantasy book. It is very light on the magic and heavy on the adventure. --In the Region of the Summer Stars-- by Stephen R. Lawhead An adult lit Celtic tale that brilliantly, and with subtlety, mixes magic with enjoyable characters and heart pumping adventure. Contact your librarian, during business hours, to get assistance placing hold or sign in and request material online. https://wapitilibrary.ca/ As usual, please let us know in the comments below how trying this recommendation worked out for you.
