Hey all you people trapped in Toronto on this glorious long weekend - Voodoo Child will be closed on Canada Day, Monday July 1. Well also be closed on Wednesday July 3rd so some dudes can open up our espresso machine and give it some sweet, sweet love, and make it stop whining at us while we work it. (For machine geeks: the actual problem is that the heating coil in the boiler needs de-scaling and currently the coil is overheating and tripping the safety sensor which releases the over-pressure in a high-pitched whine).

I havent met Joey, but in my heart of hearts Im hoping that its not a proper noun, and is, instead, just a common noun, and Melanie and I will be bartending for a whole room of baby kangaroos. Seriously. Picture this while trying not smile or crinkling your eyes thinking WTF?!?!? (FYI: baby kangaroos are referred to as "Joeys". Thanks for ruining my joke, jerk faces.)
