Just came back from Main-a-Dieu where I took pictures of the home so many wonderful volunteers are working on today. I am sharing these especially for our daughter Andrea and staff at Andrea Doncaster Engineering Limited, who did volunteer engineering work for the new home.

Re Question on paving received: I received a message from a resident regarding possible paving of Lauren Lane this fall. I have investigated the possibility. In speaking with Bruce Hardy, CBRM Manager of Engineering Services, I was informed that the province has some limited funds left in the J class Road program for this year. They are looking at paving Lauren Lane, which was scheduled to be paved in next year’s paving program, along with Marbern Street. This is a Provin...cial Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Renewal decision. We will have to wait and see how this unfolds. Kind regards, Ivan See more

A note on the lighter side of life as we prepare for what the storm has in store! Thank You Dear Milkmen I remember the milkman... From when just a young girl, But not the date he started Delivering milk to our world. I’ve learned his days began In wee hours of the morn, Loading up the milk truck In sunshine, rain and storms. We lived in the country Where it was always good to see The milkman’s arrival With milk for our family. I remember the money Would be ready for him, Before there were tokens And our milkman was Jim. There was Billy I think Or was he the oil man, Well I’m sure there was Nick Before Garfield and Wayne. Their presence in our lives Brought blessings for sure, Just knowing the milkman Brought milk to our door. They brought Mother smiles And they did for me too, So thank you dear milkmen For bringing kindness with you! Since those years have passed And we buy milk at the store, I’ve many fond memories Of milk delivery to our doors. Viola Doncaster, September 21, 2020. Written in thanksgiving for all milkmen who were dedicated to seeing the milk would get through.
